Bachelorette night in

Bachelorette Night In: Games and Ideas for the Night You Stay at the Rental

Updated October 2026

Most bachelorette weekends have one night with nothing on the itinerary. Everyone is tired from the day, half the group met the other half on Friday, and the plan is to “just hang out,” which lasts about forty minutes before everyone is on their phones.

A good night in needs very little. Dinner should take care of itself, the whole room should do one thing together, and anyone who wants to go to bed should be free to.

The message to send the group

Send this the week before, so nobody packs a costume.

“[Saturday] is the night in. Dinner arrives at [7], the game starts at [8], and after that it’s pajamas and leftovers. Bring nothing. Wear whatever you’d wear to bed.”

Change anything in brackets.

Why it falls flat

The night nobody planned

The night in is usually an afterthought. Someone opens a deck of question cards, the bride answers something about the honeymoon in front of her future sister-in-law, and the friend from work who knows nobody spends the hour refilling the chips.

It goes wrong when one person has to carry the room, or when the only plan is drinking.

The plan

How to plan a bachelorette night in

  1. Have dinner come to you. Keep it simple and pick something everyone will eat. Depending on the budget, that’s a stack of pizzas, a fancy DoorDash order or a private chef. Whatever you do, don’t try to cook dinner for twelve in a kitchen you met yesterday.
  2. Pick one game everyone plays together. Choose something everyone plays at the same time, so nobody has to go first and the cousin who knows no one has something to do besides watch.
  3. Make sure it works without drinking. Whatever you plan should be just as good for the friend who isn’t drinking this weekend. If a game only works three drinks in, it doesn’t work.
  4. Use what’s already in the house. If it needs a printer, markers and a laminator, it won’t happen. The rental has a TV and everyone has a phone, and that’s plenty.
  5. Plan a finale, then see where the night goes. End the group part on a high point, like an awards round or a toast, and schedule nothing after it. Some of the best moments of a bachelorette happen at 1am on the kitchen floor, and anyone who’d rather go to bed can slip away without making an announcement.

Ideas

Night-in games that work for a mixed group

  • Who Knows the Bride Best. The classic, and it works best when her friends write the questions together. Our guide has 230 questions and a free generator.
  • Bachelorette Jeopardy. Good for a group that likes keeping score. Here’s how to play, with 30 questions and a template.
  • This or That, bride edition. Read out two options (beach or mountains, early flight or late checkout) and everyone guesses which one she’d pick. It needs no supplies, and nobody has to know anyone but her.
  • “Most likely to.” Everyone votes on who in the room is most likely to do something. It works best once people have warmed up, so save it for later in the night.
  • A game made from your group. Everyone answers a few questions about the bride before the trip, and the night in plays them back on the TV as a game show. That’s the one we make.

The night-in game

A game show made from your group’s answers

Before the trip, everyone answers a few questions on their phone, about the bride and about each other. On the night in, Group Project turns those answers into five games that play on the TV while everyone votes from their phone. Nobody has to perform, it works with people who just met, and it’s just as good with sparkling water.

It takes the host about ten minutes to set up from a phone. You need the rental’s TV, a phone for each person, and nothing to print.

“The bride loved it. The guests had a blast.”

Questions people ask

What do you do on a bachelorette night in?

Have dinner delivered, play one game the whole room can join, and let the night wind down on its own. Pajamas are optional but tend to win.

What are good bachelorette games without drinking?

Games where the fun comes from what people know or write, not from penalties. Who Knows the Bride, This or That and anything built from the group’s own answers all work just as well sober.

What bachelorette games work for a small group?

With four to six people, skip team games and pick something where everyone answers every round. Question games and anything played on phones keep a small room busy.

What if half the group has never met?

Choose a game where the answers do the introducing. When everyone answers questions about the bride, the people who just met learn the most about her and each other.

Are there bachelorette games that involve the groom?

Yes, without him in the room. In our game, her partner answers a few questions ahead of time, and the group tries to guess what they said.

What do we need for a night-in game?

For ours, a TV or laptop everyone can see and a phone for each person. No apps to download and nothing to print.
